Olivia DeYoung

In May of 2017, Olivia graduated from Illinois Central College, receiving her associates in the Physical Therapy Assistant Program. Olivia injured her ankle while playing volleyball at South Suburban College, and due to her injury, she attended physical therapy for a few months. During her time in Physical Therapy, Olivia fell in love the environment of Physical Therapy. She got to witness how therapists helped to rehabilitate people every day and accomplish their goal of returning back to life, work, or sports. Olivia has a wide skill set when it comes to the physical therapy field and has been trained in aquatic therapy, sports medicine, orthopedics, and workmen’s compensation. In addition to those areas, Olivia specializes in working with Parkinson’s patients and holds additional certification from LSVT BIG ®, a clinical certification specializing in Parkinson’s Disease. “My favorite patients to work with are my Parkinson patients. The disease is challenging and requires them to work hard every single day for even simple tasks. If they stopped rising to those challenges, the disease would overcome them. My job allows me to join the battle against Parkinson’s alongside them! I am able to give them hope, and be able to say not today, Parkinson’s, not today! Those moments are part of the many reasons why I love this work!” When she is not working Olivia enjoys spending her time visiting with her family and traveling the country. Olivia is an active person and enjoys volleyball, softball, and scuba diving when possible.
