Dr. Gilbert received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine (Chicago, IL). He completed his residency in Family Practice at the University of Illinois College of Medicine (Peoria, IL) and has been practicing in the Central Illinois area for over 30 years.

After completing residency, Dr. Gilbert practiced full-service family medicine in a rural community which included obstetrics, urgent care, and attending to migrant workers in an underserved area.  In addition to maintaining his certification in family medicine, Dr. Gilbert has been certified by the American Board of Addiction Medication. He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine (Peoria, IL) and Southern Illinois University (Carbondale, IL).

Dr. Gilbert most recently practiced with Springfield Clinic (Peoria). He’s a lifelong learner who never stops growing professionally from the people around him (patients, families, caregivers, colleagues, and co-workers) and is committed to contributing his knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm toward the cause of the best possible health for all.

Dr. Gilbert and his wife (Beth) have 5 children.
